jotting down notes in my search for (green) hope and awe in an otherwise jaded world

My ideal job for next year would be building gardens atop every building in sight.  With over a hundred cities now housing over 3 million people each, green city redesign to improve water quality and access, air quality, and energy efficiency, should be the focus of all nations, and now has apparently become the focus of gay ole’ Paris.  The Nytimes travel section describes the Parisian movement outlining the various areas that need to be addressed; from pesticide-free jardins, to LED lights, and extending metro hours. The many, many online forums and networks dedicated to this subject, and online case study database of the best practices for sustainable cities showcase much of what a city can do with dedicated leadership and some creativity; let’s help this movement grow.
